MacBook screens
MacBook Air and Pro lids are a different assembly from a Windows panel. We match the resolution and the backlight, and we set the hinge so the lid still stays where you leave it.
Windows Ultrabooks & Laptops
Dell XPS, HP Spectre, Lenovo ThinkPad and IdeaPad, ASUS and Acer. We fit a panel that matches the resolution and the finish, including a matte anti-glare Full HD panel where that's what the laptop had.
Chromebooks & School Devices
Screen replacements for school Chromebooks and other student laptops. We find a matching panel and get the machine back to class as soon as the part is in.
Signs the screen needs replacing
These are the faults we see most often on the bench.
Cracked glass, picture still there
You can still read the screen through the crack. Try not to press the cracked glass, as that can spread the crack into the panel underneath.
Dark patches and colour bleed
A black mark, an oily patch, or colour leaking from a corner means the panel is failing. It rarely stays the size it is today.
Lines, flicker, or a dim picture
Lines, a flicker, or a picture that has gone dim or pink can be the panel or the cable. We check which one it is before we quote a new screen.

We fit it and test the lid
We fit a matching panel and test the lid open and closed. Most jobs take 1 to 3 working days, once the panel is here. New parts carry a 12-month warranty.
If we can't fix it, the part isn't worth fitting, or the repair would cost more than the laptop is worth, you don't pay for the labour.

How long will the repair take?
Most screen repairs take 1 to 3 working days. It mainly depends on how fast the right panel arrives.
Will I lose any personal data or files?
Replacing a screen does not normally require a drive wipe. Tell us if your files are the priority, and we'll discuss any data risks before work starts.
Is it worth repairing a cracked screen, or should I replace the laptop?
If the rest of the laptop is working, repairing the screen is usually the sensible choice: your files stay put, and you keep a laptop you already know. If the battery or another fault is part of it, we say so before a panel is ordered.
Can you replace a touchscreen or a 2-in-1 panel?
Yes, when a matching panel is available for that model. A touchscreen, including the panel on a 2-in-1, is a different part from a plain laptop screen, so the panel price is not the same. Fitting is still £50 on a Windows laptop or Chromebook, or £85 on a MacBook, plus that panel. We quote the panel for your model before we order it.
My screen is cracked but it still works. Should I keep using it?
If the glass is still held in place and no dark patch is spreading, you can use it carefully for now. Try not to press the cracked glass, as that can spread the crack. If the glass is loose, or a black mark is spreading, close the lid and book it in. If you still need your files before then, plug the laptop into a TV or spare monitor. The files sit on the drive, not on the glass.
